80 Day Obsession - Week 3
Week 3 of 80 Day Obsession is D-O-N-E! When I looked at the 80 Day Obsession Calendar (yes, this program comes with a calendar) and saw 3 sets/10 reps, I though "Yes! Same as last week"... boy was I wrong, haha. Yikes. This week we broke the moves down into blocks, so instead of doing the entire workout all the way through 3 times... we did block 1 and repeated it 3 times, block 2 repeated 3 times, etc. You get the point. Why is this so different? My muscles were screeeeaming. My arms and legs felt like jello and don't even get me started on the slider/ab moves. I didn't realize changing up the order of moves could completely change the intensity like that - loved the challenge!
Workouts (3 sets of 10 reps - repeat)
Day 15: Total Body Cardio
Day 16: Booty
Day 17: Cardio Core
Day 18: Arms, Abs, & Ass
Day 19: Legs
Day 20: Cardio Flow
Rest Day: Roll & Release
I still find myself getting a little "intimidated" when I notice the length of the workouts - 60 minutes just seems crazy, especially when I still have to tend to the pups, shower, get ready for work, pack lunch, etc. I have noticed that once I know the order of the moves, I can shave off quite a bit of time by fast forwarding through Autumn talking about whatever it is that she's talking about. Some days they start recording while the cast is trying to get their weights and equipment ready - again, fast forwarding shaves off 5 minutes. I listen to see if the stuff being talked about is relevant and if it's not, fast forward. Ain't nobody got time for that! :) (seriously, I really don't have time for that at 0600). All in all, I guess you could say I'm "obsessed" with this program. I haven't skipped a day and some days I add in a 5k on the treadmill pre or post workout. This timed-nutrition stuff is though.. tough stuff! Some days I'm on point and some days I'm a hot mess in the nutrition department. I'm a work in progress though.
Whenever someone sees me posting about my workouts, some of them often ask "Do you drink the shake?" The answer to that is yes... not because I absolutely NEED it and at first, I refused to drink it. I drink it because I have noticed some positive things with the top one being that it seems to alleviate my constant sugar cravings. Sugar addict up in here! Seriously, it gets out of control sometimes. I'm also a convenience eater, so if it's in front of me or easily accessible - I'll usually snack on it. Once or twice a month, I go through the kitchen and toss any "junk food" that made its way into the house. My husband isn't a huge fan of sweets, but if he sees something new (i.e. Snickerdoodle popcorn) he'll buy it to try it out. When I make brownies or something, we usually eat a couple and end up tossing the rest. I know if I keep them in the house, I'll end up eating them all because they're just not his thing. Maybe I need another person in the house to help me tackle the junk food? Ok, ok that's probably not feasible but whatever. Long story short, I drink Shakeology because I've personally seen a few different ways that it benefits me. It's also full of important vitamins, which I otherwise wouldn't consume. I've found that the regular Shakeology is a little heavier than the Vegan Shakeology - again, personal preference and observation. My favorite go-to flavors are Vegan Vanilla or Vegan Chocolate. The Vanilla is super versatile and there are tons of different recipes to use if you're one of those people that can't have the same thing over and over.

| Days 6 & 7 were busy for us so I didn't snap a picture. Also, I did wash the pink shirt... I swear! haha |
My go-to Shakeology recipe:
