80 Day Obsession - Week 2
Week 2 of 80 Day Obsession is in the books, folks! This week was changed up a bit from the 2 sets/15 reps to 3 sets/10 reps, which means upping weights. I started to notice that the resistance bands (yellow, green, blue) were becoming too "easy" for me, so I purchased a new set on Amazon that included x-heavy and xx-heavy - LOVE them! Autumn and the crew usually double up on bands (i.e. green and blue), but I haven't totally mastered how to keep them in place yet... so basically to avoid 10 minutes of cussing at the bands, I just bought different ones with more resistance. Boom.
Workouts (3 sets of 10 reps)
Day 8: Total Body Cardio
Day 9: Booty (Yessss!)
Day 10: Cardio Core
Day 11: Arms, Abs, & Ass
Day 12: Legs (My favorite!)
Day 13: Cardio Flow
Day 14: Roll & Release
Sundays are usually rest days, but since Saturday was St Patrick's Day and I didn't keep my nutrition on point I decided to do MMA Speed from Core de Force to have a more legit sweat session. I woke up on Sunday feeling pretty anxious too for some reason, so the MMA workout was much needed and left me feeling great afterwards.
I'm not a big drinker, never have been and probably never will be. That's just my preference, plus after suffering a severe concussion in 2014 I usually end up with a splitting headache after one or two drinks. For St Patrick's Day, Hubs and I went out for a drink and lunch to Clive's Roadhouse in Rogers, MN. I had heard great things so we decided to give it a try. I had a slow-roasted beef sandwich with waffle fries and Tony had a philly sandwich with tator tots. We were both rather disappointed since the meat had zero flavor. We probably won't be going back any time soon.
On Sunday, Tony and I met up with one of my very best friends, Maria, to have a drink and lunch. Do you see the theme here? Nutrition totally not on point this weekend, but it felt good to let loose for a couple days. Maria and I went to school together, rode the bus together, were college roommates in ND, and she was my maid of honor. We went to an Irish Pub in Maple Grove, which was tons of fun!
New Week
Monday... a fresh start, a blank slate. Week 3 of 80 Day Obsession is underway and I'm excited to get stronger as the week goes on. I'll be meal prepping tonight while Tony is at his weekly fire meeting. This week is jam packed with different appointments after work - taxes, vet, and Puppy Kindergarten (wish me luck!).
