Part 4: PCOS - Update
**Thank
you for following our journey! If you're new to the blog, check out Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3 so that you're up to speed on where we're at!
"If you want it bad enough, you will find a way; if you don't, you'll find an excuse."Hi ya'll! I realized it has been way too long since I've posted a blog, so here we go!
The past month and a half has been very busy with work and life in general. Unfortunately, I don't have any updates regarding our journey to parenthood. I decided to take a month off from testing to save up some money and to alleviate some stress. The last phase of our testing process if the Femvue test to evaluate my tubes and check for blockage. This test costs approximately $1,026... out-of-pocket. As you can imagine, there is added stress with the financial aspect of this process. Can we afford it? Meh... we do pretty well and could probably make it work. But I'm the type of person that likes to have a set amount in my bank account at any given time; my husband is the same way. When I get below that amount, I start to "panic" a bit for whatever reason. There's something about that "safety net" that keeps me sane. Between house payment, vehicle payments, student loan, utilities, etc there's not a whole lot of extra money laying around.
I'd be lying if I said I'm beyond frustrated with the fact that we even have to go through this. I often find myself asking "Why? Why us? Why this?" and I always have to remind myself that it could always be worse. I know there are people out there who would give anything to be in our shoes because their circumstances are worse. I try to remain positive, but I have my days. Am I losing hope or giving up? Absolutely not, that's not even an option.
I am still busting my butt to overcome this PCOS diagnosis. I refuse to be defined by this. I refuse to sit back and wait. I will be as proactive as I can possibly be and be an advocate for myself. I have read about so many women who use PCOS as an excuse (what the heck?). "I'm overweight because I have PCOS. / I can't lose weight with PCOS. / I'll always have these symptoms, so why put in any effort?" --- If this is your mindset, you need to CHANGE IT. After you change your mindset, start making changes in your lifestyle. Will your PCOS be cured? No, but you can get your symptoms in check so that it's more manageable. I'm proof that it IS possible to lose weight with PCOS. It might take more effort and be a slower process, but it is possible. Don't sit around and hope for something to happen. Get up and MAKE IT HAPPEN.
Okay okay, time to get off of my mini rant. But seriously. If you want something bad enough, work for it. It may not pan out how you want it to, but at the end of the day you can look yourself in the mirror and say that you made a legitimate effort. I am still a Beachbody Coach and loving every minute of it. Being a Coach has pushed me to workout even harder because I know that others are watching. I want to inspire as many people as I can. I'm blessed to have an incredible fitness community that stands behind me and supports me every step of the way. If it wasn't for them, I would have fallen off the bandwagon months ago and given up like I had every other time. I never had success until I found a group of like-minded people who are on the same mission as I am - to become the best and healthiest version of themselves. These at-home workouts have changed my life! If you have any questions, please reach out!!
I'm kind of all over the place with this update, but when I have something to say... I say it :)
xoxo,
Krystal
