80 Day Obsession - Week 8

Phase 2 - Week 4 of 80 Day Obsession is done, which means Phase 2 is officially completed! How the heck am I at Day 50 already?? That's just crazy. When stepping back and looking at my Phase 1 and Phase 2 calendars, I'm feels like it is flying by. Some days, though, it felt like time was standing still and like the workouts were taking forever. That's just me being on the struggle bus though. I'm still waking up at 0430 every day for the most part, which has slowly been getting easier. Slowly.

I have been making a point to keep track of my weights throughout this program so that I can look back to see how much stronger I get as the weeks go on. I also plan on doing the full 80 Day Obsession program over again once I complete this first round. I'm debating whether or not to do a round of Core De Force in between, just to change it up a bit. Plus I love love love the Core De Force workout program. I think every female should go through the program because it is MMA inspired and essentially teaches you self defense. From punches to kicks, fighting stances, defensive moves, and even ground moves... this program covers it all. As a police officer, I'd highly recommend this program to people looking for pretty basic self defense tactics. **The Core De Force program is technically not advertised/marketed as self defense; I'm recommending this based on my own experience doing the program.

Workouts (2 sets of 15 reps - repeating)
Day 45: Booty
Day 46: Cardio Core
Day 47: Total Body Cardio
Day 48: Legs
Day 49: AAA
Day 50: Cardio Flow {Brutal!!}
Sunday: Rest Day

Overall, I really enjoyed Phase 2! The workouts were still a lot of fun, with a ton of variety. Cardio Flow still kicked my butt. I think that workout will always be one of the toughest ones for me for whatever reason, probably because we do a ridiculous number of inchworms. Autumn Calabrese (creator of 80 Day Obsession) did say that we're ramping the workouts up again in Phase 3. I'm half looking forward to it and half dreading it, haha. She mentioned that we'll be doing EIGHT reps of Cardio Flow in Phase 3. I thought 4 reps were brutal in Phase 1, somehow managed to survive 6 reps in Phase 2, and I'm starting to mentally prepare myself for 8 reps. Yikes. I'm not looking forward to having to learn all new moves again. By the time the fourth week of each phase comes around, I feel like I've finally legit mastered the moves... annnd then we start a new phase with brand new moves.

Phase 2 - Week 4

Anyways... I seem to have fallen behind on my blogging. I apologize for that. We had a family emergency recently with my grandpa and I have been very pre-occupied with that. He's one of my favorite people, so when I received the phone call that he was in the hospital... my heart sank and I started praying. I make it a point to check in on him a few times a week and go down to my home town to visit during the weekends. He's a stubborn German, so I know he's putting up one hell of a fight. He does seem to be doing better, which is great to see. He's pain free for the most part (thankfully!!). My mom and aunt have been doing a great job of being his nurses while he's in the recovery process. As I've said in previous blog posts, working out helps me clear my mind and calm my nerves. Some days, I've been doing 2 workouts just to help me fully clear my mind of everything going on with him. It's so fun to sit with him and listen to stories from the good ol days; he has always been the best at telling stories. If you're the praying type, please send up a couple prayers for my grandpa! :)
