80 Day Obsession - Week 11

Week 3 of Phase 3 is complete. Gah, Phase 3 has me on the struggle bus. I mentioned this in my Week 10 review post, but I just don't "enjoy" the moves in this phase as much as I did in the other two phases. I'm not sure what the deal is with that, but either way I just keep pushing forward. I'm almost done with this program and I am feeling so proud of myself.

Prior to finding Beachbody on Demand, I would fall off the bandwagon after a week or two. I have always had gym memberships that would cost me $40+ per month, locked into a contract for a minimum of 1 year (that's $480 alone!). That's a crazy amount of money. I was always the person wandering around the gym aimlessly trying out different machines. I'm not a fan of working out with a lot of people around, so that was always a convenient excuse. I maybe went a handful of times throughout the duration of my gym membership contracts. I literally cringe at the thought of how much money was wasted. With Beachbody on Demand... I pay $99 per YEAR. You read that right, YEAR. I workout in my basement, by myself. I can turn the radio up however loud I want, I can cuss when I'm frustrated/had a bad day, I don't have to wait for machines... I don't even have to leave my house (um, no makeup!). I can even workout on the beach at the cabin every morning while the guys go golfing. I have a personal trainer on my screen telling me exactly which moves I need to do, how to improve my form, and they are constantly encouraging you to keep pushing just when you're on the brink of giving up. Beachbody on Demand has changed my life in so many ways!

Supplements
I have had a few people ask me which Beachbody products I use since they do have Shakeology, a whole Performance line, as well as the new Beachbars (yum!!). I'll start out with the fact that I've never been a shake person. I've tried shakes from different companies over the years and have never enjoyed them, they either had a weird texture or poor flavor. I have also never been a snack bar/granola bar person, even as a kid I never ate them because the flavors didn't appeal to me.

Which products do I use on a regular basis? Here's the list, links to read more about them/purchase, and a short review of them:
  • Shakeology: I drink Shakeology every day! My flavor of choice is Vegan Chocolate, but Vegan Vanilla is also really good and versatile. I have tried the Strawberry, which is really good, but I have never been drawn towards "fruity" drinks for some reason. Shakeology is creamy and packed full of superfoods. It really does taste like a chocolate milkshake, so you think you're splurging on a treat when in reality you're getting your daily dose of all-natural nutrition. Rating: 10/10 - recommend
  • Energize: I seriously don't know where Energize has been all my life! This stuff has been dubbed "liquid gold" and it totally lives up to that. Seriously. If I had to recommend one must have when it comes to Beachbody and workouts, it's Energize. One scoop of this helps me power through my workout and keeps me energized all day long; bye, bye mid-day crash! You mix the powder with water, stir, and chug. It tastes just like lemonade and it's absolutely fabulous!
Rating: 20/10 - highly, highly recommend
  • Beachbars: I have one word for Beachbars... DELICIOUS! Beachbody just launched these a month or so ago and I love them. They come in 2 different flavors - Peanut Butter Chocolate & Chocolate Cherry Almond. 150 calories, 10 grams protein, 0 trans fat, and gluten free = YES. As a kid, I never liked snack bars or granola bars. Even as an adult, they were never my first option. I have tried Larabars, Cliff Bars, Rx Bars, and whatever else caught my eye while grocery shopping, but none of them were ever "good" to me. Plus they were always packed with too much sugar. These Beachbars are so good, you guys. I mean it. I was skeptical at first, but decided to order a box of each flavor to give them a try for myself. I strongly dislike cherries (ick!), but the Chocolate Cherry Almond bar is probably my favorite of the two if I absolutely had to choose. Both flavors are delicious though. They're even husband approved!
Rating: 10/10 - highly, highly recommend
  • Recover: I noticed that a few people that I follow on Instagram religiously drink Recover after their workouts to help alleviate sore muscles. This product comes in 2 different flavors - chocolate and orange. I have personally never tried the orange flavor before, but the chocolate tastes just like hot cocoa. I ordered this when I started the 80 Day Obsession program because it was recommended to take for sore muscles. I personally have not had any results with Recover, but I know multiple people who have taken it throughout the program and never had a day with sore muscles.
Rating: 5/10 - I personally have not had any results from this
