80 Day Obsession - Week 10
Week 2 of Phase 3 - CHECK. Unlike the past two phases, Week 2 of Phase 3 was just as hard as Week 1. The moves in this phase are a lot more challenging and it's been tough to fully master them. I'm almost there though! Cardio Flow (8 rounds, well, 9 rounds) is still the most challenging in my opinion. I always feel amaze-balls when I finish the 8th round, but there is a lot of cussing going on from the beginning to the end #sorrynotsorry. I've also realized that I'm kind of getting "bored" with this program for whatever reason. I'm not sure if it's because I'm in the home stretch and I'm ready to do Core De Force again (my favorite!) or if I really am getting bored. I personally don't enjoy the moves in Phase 3 compared to the other two phases. Phase 3 has a lot of compound movements and doesn't seem to get my heart rate up as high. I have been trying to do a 1 mile warm-up before each workout so that I can raise my heart rate and keep it up throughout the workout.
This week was 3 sets of 10 reps, meaning that we had to use heavier weights. I do use the workout tracking sheets that are included with the program so that I can monitor where I'm at and challenge myself. I have also been drinking the Recover performance formula after lifting heavy because it helps relieve muscle soreness. They have two flavors: chocolate or orange (chocolate tastes like hot chocolate!). I do find that I try to talk myself out of doing all three rounds, I'd rather just do 15 reps for 2 rounds and be done.
With the 80 Day Obsession program, Sundays are usually designated rest days. Since working out is how I clear my mind, I usually have active days, meaning that I still do some form of a light workout. This week I did Core De Force because who doesn't love MMA fighting?? I mean, seriously.
Workouts (3 sets/10 reps)
Day 57: AAA
Day 58: Cardio Flow
Day 59: Legs
Day 60: Total Body Core
Day 61: Cardio Core
Day 62: Booty
Sunday: Rest Day (active!)
This past weekend we celebrated my birthday with some of my favorite people! My husband made reservations at a few different bars in the cities, which turned out to be a lot of fun! We went to Psycho Suzis, The Shout House, Cowboy Jacks, and Betty Dangers (ferris wheel!). I ate way too much junk food and drank way too much alcohol, but it felt good to let loose and enjoy the day. I didn't skip my workout on my birthday and I didn't skip it the day after either. My stomach wasn't feeling that good from all of the food, but I still managed to get it done. No, I wasn't hung over... I don't ever really have hangovers. Ever since my concussion in 2014, I always end up with a terrible headache after one or two drinks... which is part of the reason why I usually limit myself to only one or two because dealing with the headache isn't worth it. Plus, I know that everyone will get home safe since I'm sober cab. I've also noticed that after a couple drinks, I get really stuffed up, almost like a head cold. Annoying. Oh well, I guess I'm doing pretty good if those are my only gripes about getting older. Haha!

| Birthday shenanigans with some of my favorite people! <3 |
Fun Fact: I was born on Mother's Day. I like to think that I'm a gift that keeps on giving, but my mom says otherwise some days.. haha! This confuses people since Mother's Day is always on a Sunday and dates obviously shift from year-to-year. Next year my birthday will actually fall on Mother's Day, which will be fun. After my birthday shenanigans, we went to my parents house to spend some time with my mom. She's a kind-hearted, spitfire of a lady and I'm blessed to have her as my mom. She has been one of my biggest cheerleaders in life and I don't know where I'd be without her guidance and unconditional love. She's one of those people that's difficult to shop for because she's so laid back, so I decided to go the simple route... 2 dozen roses, lottery scratch-off tickets, and candy to munch on.
