My Story

Here's the run down on who I am and why I decided to start a blog...

I grew up on a hobby farm in a small town with my parents and older brother. I played softball and volleyball throughout school. My childhood consisted of friends, family, exploring the outdoors, country music, traveling, and helping others - simple. I've always had a passion for helping others, which led me to pursuing a career in law enforcement. Although I have faced a lot of obstacles in my career, which began in 2011, I'll forever be thankful because it led me to my handsome firefighter husband, Tony, in 2014. I ended up moving to a city of about 15,000 people, Target is now 5 minutes away vs 30 minutes... score! [Fun fact: I'm addicted to Target.] After suffering a severe concussion a few years ago, I gained a bunch of weight which made me realize I have a hidden interest in health & fitness. I started my fitness/health journey in 2016 and I'm kicking ass, if I do say so myself. I currently work as a police officer part-time and work full-time for a fire department. Tony and I have two fur babes - Blu is an 8 year old Basset Hound and Lily is a 15 week old black Lab.

That pretty much sums up my life in record time! :)

Why the blog?

The past couple years have been full of obstacles, losses, and eye opening events. From being diagnosed with PCOS (infertility) to having to unexpectedly say goodbye to our beloved 3 year old pup, I needed an outlet. This blog is my outlet. Also, I embarked on a journey to a healthier me in 2017 and I'll be sharing my tips, tricks, and progress because I'm totally kicking ass! The content of this blog may be totally random, but it will be raw and real.
