80 Day Obsession - Week 13 (Peak Week)
80 Day Obsession - DONE! Boom. Bam. Goal crushed. What's up?
I can't believe I actually completed the 80 Day Obsession. I have never ever stuck to a workout program for that long. I didn't skip a single workout for the entire duration. Sundays are "rest" days for the program, but I always did some sort of workout whether it was Core De Force, running on the treadmill, etc. After working out for 6 days in a row, I don't know how people can just take a day off. But for real, I am shocked that I stuck to this program (workouts).
Peak Week was actually a lot of fun! It was nice to be able to do workouts from past phases to see how much stronger I was. Plus, my favorite workouts were in Phase 1 and Phase 2 (workout breakdown is listed below). It was almost like doing A Little Obsessed again, except it was the full length of the workouts versus a 30 minute preview.
Because I know myself, I knew that if I went all in with workouts and the timed nutrition.. I'd fail. I knew I had to prove to myself that I could (and would) complete the 80 days of workouts first before implementing the nutrition. It wasn't easy by any means. There were tons of excuses. Life was hectic. Changing work schedules meant sleep was thrown off. Loss of a puppy and then a new puppy. So many obstacles along the way, but I overcame every single one of them. On days when the excuses were in high demand, I reminded myself how far I had come. "I'm on day 27, there's no way I'm turning back now." Those little reminders are what got me through. One thing I realize now that I completed the program is that I truly NEEDED it. This program helped me both physically and mentally. This program helped me through some really tough days. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and I loved every minute of it.
This program really teaches discipline. It teaches you that you are capable of whatever you set your mind to. It pushes you out of your comfort zone and teaches you so many things about yourself that you likely wouldn't learn otherwise. It's bittersweet that the 80 day is over, but I'm proud. Proud that I stuck to the 80 days of workouts. Proud that I was stronger than my excuses. Proud that I took my fitness to a whole new level. Proud that I'm stronger than I have ever been.
How did I stay accountable? Easy, I took a sweaty selfie after every single workout. I was part of a Beachbody accountability group as well, which is full of other women who are on their health and fitness journeys. Some of them did the 80 Day Obsession program and some of them did a different Beachbody program. I posted my sweaty selfies daily and knew that if I didn't, I had a group of girls that would call me out on it. Thankfully, nobody every had to because I was consistent. There were days where I had to listen to my body and take a day off, but you better believe I doubled up on workouts the following day. I told my husband that this workout program was a priority and that I needed to complete this for me. He was on board and was always willing to take over dog duty, house cleaning, etc for awhile until I could complete my workout.
When did I get the workouts done? I opted to do most of the program every morning before work. Yes, that meant I had to wake up at least an hour earlier than usual as some of the workouts are 60 minutes long. The length of the workouts was very intimidating at first, but after awhile it was just "the norm"... once you get in the groove, it's smooth sailing. Some mornings I worked out with a puppy chasing me and biting me. Some mornings I worked out on a couple hours of sleep. It doesn't have to be perfect, you just have to do it!
Workouts
Day 75: AAA - Phase 1
Day 76: Cardio Flow
Day 77: Legs - Phase 1
Day 78: Total Body Core - Phase 3
Day 79: Cardio Core - Phase 2
Day 80: Booty - Phase 2
Sunday: Rest Day (active!)
I will be doing an 80 Day Obsession - Review post to break down my personal thoughts on the workouts, the nutrition, the supplements, tips/tricks, etc. I'm not the type of person that jumps on board with something and brags about it until I try it out myself. I'd rather be 100% real with people than sugar coat something that I didn't believe in.
